A few notes regarding
"187 Broadway, New York":



This address—"187 Broadway"—served a few tenants of interest:

— The first U.S. flea circus opened here in early January 1838, billed as an "...Extraordinary Exhibition of the Industrious Fleas..."

— Mathew B. Brady, at about 27 years of age...and prior to his activities as a daguerreotypist, is listed as doing business here as a jewel, miniature, and surgical case manufacturer here from 1844-1845.

— The daguerreian materials supplier, Andrew Prosch, is listed as doing business here from 1845-1850.

— The daguerreian materials supplier, George W. Prosch, is listed as doing business here from 1847-1848.

— The daguerreotypist Nathan G. Burgess is listed as doing business here from 1849-1852.
