I recently obtained a copy of the following publication and thought
it worth a mention:

"Madison County Heritage" No. 19 (1994)

The entire issue is devoted to a 64 page article by Hugh C. Humphreys,
"Agitate! Agitate! Agitate! The Great Cazenovia Fugitive Slave Law
Convention and its rare Daguerreotype."
The article gives extensive background to the daguerreotype taken at
the Convention. The daguerreotype depicts Frederick Douglass, Gerrit
Smith, and others.

The publication can be obtained for $5.35 (includes shipping) from:

   Madison County Historical Society
   435 Main Street
   PO Box 415
   Oneida NY 13421

Posted for your enjoyment. Gary W. Ewer
