If you hold a good daguerreotype in your hands and peer into its enormous depth, you see a detailed, dimensioned, real reflection of a person or an object. A daguerreotype is as close one can get to being in a different time and space without actually being there. To produce a good daguerreotype is to make an image unequaled in a medium like no other.
